The length of the new Earpods is greater than the previous version headphones. So check whether your EarPods are lengthier than old version or not

other manufacturers. Anyway now-a-days even that has been achieved by third parties. So check whether your EarPods remote and mic are working fine with your iPhone (or any iDevice) or not.

Apple (OEM) EarPods comes with a text near audio jack saying “Designed by Apple in California” or “Designed by Apple in California assembled in China” or “Designed by Apple in California assembled in Vietnam” and a unique product ID. So check the black print on your EarPods near Audio Jack.
