Check number of RAM slots in your laptop

1.Use wmic command

 Use this wmic command(without quotes) to list all the details like: RAM Capaity, RAM Bank Label, RAM Location, RAM Speed and RAM manufacturer too.

"wmic memorychip get BankLabel, Capacity, DeviceLocator, Manufacturer, Speed, Tag"

or use following command to list full RAM details. 
"wmic memorychip list full"


2.Use "Crucial System Scanner"

This method is very efficient as it can list complete details like how many RAM slots your laptop has and how much memory you can upgrade to and lot many things. 

Simply visit http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner to download the scanner and let it run the scan
The scanner takes 5 to 10 sec time depends on your system and it gives detailed info of your laptop or desktop

3.Dissemble your laptop and see for yourself(best way)

This is the best way to explore inside of your laptop but risky too. If you make mess while dissembling or  re-assembling you'll have to pay price. Do not risk this step if you are not aware of any laptop dissembling details.

EarPods Remote Functions

Play or pause a song or video

Press the center button once. Press again to resume playback.

Skip to the next song or chapter 

Press the center button twice quickly.

Fast-forward 

Press the center button twice quickly and hold.

Go to the previous song or chapter 

Press the center button three times quickly.


Rewind 

Press the center button three times quickly and hold.

Answer or end a call 

Press the center button once to answer. Press again to end the call.

Decline an incoming call 

Hold down the center button for about two seconds, then let go.
(When you let go, two low beeps confirm that you declined the call.)

Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and put the current call on hold 

Press the center button once. Press again to switch back to the first call.

Switch to an incoming or on-hold call and end the current call 

Hold down the center button for about two seconds, then let go.
(When you let go, two low beeps confirm that you ended the first call.)

Increase volume 

Press the + button.


Decrease volume 

Press the - button

How to boost your PC performance?

1. Kill most of the unnecessary auto start applications.
2. Uninstall any Adware/Malware/ unlicensed applications.
3. Use an anti virus software always. Keep the virus definitions up-to-date.
4. Check for malicious software in program files.
5. Install additional RAM if possible.


1. Kill most of the unnecessary auto start applications.

Many of the installed softwares like Skype, Google Drive and iTunes... starts up right after the OS boot. It really impacts the boot time and PC performance.Better to keep low burden on processor. All these startup apps can be managed in Task Manager, or you can run "msconfig" command in "run" and follow instructions..


2. Uninstall any Adware/Malware/ unlicensed applications.

  When you browse the internet you click on too many unknown malicious links which may end up your system with loads of adware. So to keep your system clean, check your installed programs everyday and uninstall unnecessary applications.

3. Use an anti virus software always. Keep the virus definitions up-to-date.

  Your PC definitely need a protector, and an anti virus software can protect your PC from most of the threats. Do not just depend on Windows Defender. There too many options available in market, find a better one for your PC. And remember one thing always update virus definitions. 

4. Check for malicious software in program files.

  Some installed programmed may not show up in program manager in control panel. So once in a while check in "Program Files" or "Program File(x86)" for malicious programs. 


5. Install additional RAM if possible.

  Memory got very cheap now a days. On average 2Gb of RAM costs around just 10$. If your PC supports upto 16Gb, just do it. The best thing of upgrading RAM is you can easily install it yourself.
